Franklin is a respected investment banking executive skilled in attaining corporate level deals and top-grading products offerings to deliver optimal return on asset. Mr. Afotey has record in Senior Leadership and growing client franchises in Investment Banking and global markets coverage in Fixed Income, Derivative Products, Debt Capital Markets and Structured Products. Trained in Switzerland, Singapore and Dubai, Franklin is a Corporate Investment Banker.
Franklin has been a speaker and moderator at many international conferences including Ecowas Commission, Africa Singapore Business Forum, and Thomson Reuters on mining on energy finance, trade, and capital markets. Until recently, he was the chief executive officer Strategic Hedge Capital. Franklin’s deep expertise in many fields of banking has led to the firm being awarded by the Global Banking and Finance Magazine London for 2016 Best Corporate Finance Advisor in Ghana 2016, Best Investment Banking Company Ghana and 2016 Best Research House Ghana. Earlier in 2015, Franklin led the firm to win a couple of Awards in innovation in Geneva and Thomson Reuters in Cape Town. Franklin has led a number of investment banking advisory assignments on equity and debt capital funding for commercial and community/rural banks in Ghana. In 2014 he advised and designed a bailed out programme for Banks in Ghana from bankruptcy. He currently to serve as Non-Executive Director at both Unicon Western Holdings Board and Unicon Medical Centre board respectfully. Franklin is a licensed investment banker by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana under the securities industry laws Act 929 of 2016.
He is a successful double chartered risk and finance professional with invaluable industry experience in product groups from energy, commodities to financial institutions. Franklin is a Chartered Risk Analyst and Chartered Corporate Treasurer. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Professional Financial Managers in the United States.
He holds Master of Applied Business Research from Swiss Business School, Switzerland
